MaAfrika Tikkun treats Township Children to Snow White at the Civic

MaAfrika Tikkun and Field Band Foundation gave 450 children from Diepsloot, Orange Farm and Alexandra the opportunity to watch a live stage performance for the first time. They were special guests at the MaAfrika Tikkun and Field Band Foundation performance of the Snow White Pantomime at the Civic Theatre on November 26.

MaAfrika Tikkun extends special thanks to Rodney Rottanburg and Jane Steenkamp of Intelleca for purchasing a platinum package which enabled 50 children from the townships to attend the show.

MaAfrika Tikkun and the Field Band Foundation would also like to extend our humble appreciation to Oginga Siwundla, marketing manager for Spur Group, who together with Thomas van den Berg and Peter Wilkins, donated 450 freshly prepared Spur burgers and a Pepsi or Liquifruit for each child during interval. Siwundla says, “Kids are our passion, and their development, whether it’s feeding them or culturally educating them is what we do. We are also proud to associate ourselves with organisations such as MaAfrika Tikkun that are as passionate about our children as we are”.

The Field Band Foundations Retha Cilliers thanks Judith Bester of Aganang, the HIV and AIDS management company, for their generous support.

MaAfrika Tikkun would like to extend thank to all the donors and supporters who made the night a success: Arnold Forman, Herby Rosenberg, Blue Label Telecoms, Brenner Mills, Colin Datnow, Mr Yutar, Far East Capital, Mr Verejes, Greg Blank, Issie Kirsh, Murray & Roberts, Neil & Debbie Cloud, Mr N. Frangos, Osiris, PG Glass, Purple Capital, Ronnie Price, Ronnie Lubner, Rubin, Pogir & Sons, Sail, Sasfin, Vestacor, Vodacom, and Walter & Elizabeth Bolliger.

Both organisations thank Bertie Lubner, who purchased the Civic Theatre’s performance of the Snow White production at last year’s 46664 auction as a fundraising event.
